Job Description - Trimming and Packing

Trimming and Packing

Ashby-De-La-Zouch, Leicestershire - LE65

Own transport required due to location!

Key role and responsibilities for Machine Operative
Must be nimble fingered, able to work quickly and accurately to meet targets - trimming, grading and sorting oyster mushrooms currently a Piecework Rate task, so at least the minimum wage rate must be met after probational period completed
Must be able to handle full and empty trays of product associated with the role
Must be able to work safely using a knife to trim product
Must have the awareness to grade product correctly and able to identify mushroom varieties
Must be able to read numbers and use scales.
Must be able to label product correctly where required
Must be able to learn product quality.
Must be able to communicate in English and carry out given instructions.
Must be able to carry out additional tasks related to the role such as making up boxes' cleaning equipment and areas when work is completed
Must be able to follow Packhouse and Food Hygiene Procedures as instructed e.g knife and plaster procedures
Must be able to carry out tasks as per completed Training Records for activities and use of work equipment

Minimum requirements for Machine Operative

Ability to work unsupervised
Can do attitude
Ability to work as a part of the team
Quick learner

Working days:
Monday to Friday
From 6:00 to around 15:30 (times could be looked into)

Pay From £12.21 per hour
