Tutor- Learners at risk of PEX

Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of young people? Prospero Teaching is seeking dedicated and experienced Tutors to support learners who are permanently excluded (PEX) or at risk of exclusion. This is a rewarding opportunity to work one-on-one or in small groups, helping students re-engage with education through tailored support.

As a Tutor you will:

• Deliver engaging and accessible Maths and English sessions.
• Support learners with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs.
• Build trusting relationships and provide consistent, trauma-informed support.
• Plan and adapt sessions to meet individual learning needs and goals.

About you:

• Minimum 1 year experience working in UK schools.
• Proven experience supporting students with SEMH needs.
• Ideally trauma-informed or willing to undertake training.
• Confident in planning and delivering basic Maths and English lessons.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willing to obtain one).

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

• Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
• Provide references upon request
• Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
