Ortus Recruitment is currently working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive mainstream primary school in Brixton, who are seeking a committed and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join their team on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to begin or further their career in education. The role involves working across various year groups, with a focus on supporting a child in Year 4 with Autism on a 1:1 basis. The ideal candidate will be nurturing, patient, and passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children with special educational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide tailored 1:1 support for a child with autism in a Year 4 class
• Assist with classroom activities across different year groups when required
• Work collaboratively with teachers and support staff to deliver inclusive learning
• Support emotional and social development, promoting independence and confidence
• Help manage behaviour positively and effectively in line with school policy

Requirements:

• Genuine interest in working with children, especially those with additional needs
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• A proactive and positive approach to supporting children’s development
• Ability to work well within a team and take initiative when needed
• Resilient, reliable and eager to learn
