VAT Manager - 6 months up to £500 per day

Are you an experienced VAT professional looking for your next challenge in a fast-paced, international environment? A dynamic and private equity-backed telecoms business is looking for a VAT Manager to lead VAT compliance across multiple European jurisdictions. With operations in five countries and a growing customer base, this is a fantastic opportunity to take ownership of VAT processes and contribute to a broader finance transformation project.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead a full end-to-end review of existing VAT accounting processes and controls.
• Advise on VAT aspects of a finance transformation project, including the implementation of Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Support the design of automated VAT reporting tools and reports.
• Review invoice templates and support updates to ensure full compliance in all operational territories (UK, France, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark).
• Review and support the preparation of VAT returns by local finance teams.
• Set up VAT controls and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Develop VAT process documentation and best practice playbooks.
• Liaise with finance teams and external advisors to resolve VAT issues.
• Support ad hoc tax projects as directed by the Head of Tax.

About You:

• Professionally qualified (ACA / ACCA / CTA or equivalent).
• Strong knowledge of European VAT legislation.
• Experience in multinational environments, ideally in telecoms or tech.
• Skilled in ERP systems, preferably Microsoft Dynamics 365.
• Analytical, detail-focused, and confident with Excel.
• Strong communicator with the ability to work cross-functionally.
