VMWare Engineer- Interim

• Location: Bracknell, fully onsite
• Job Type: Interim (8 months initially)
• Salary: £500 per day via Umbrella
• Security Clearance: DV vetting required

We are seeking a VMWare Engineer to join an established programme team for a large Government account. The role involves building and configuring ESX devices as per build guides within a deployment team. This position requires a professional who can effectively work within a team, manage multiple tasks, and provide reliable support during the rollout of hardware.

• Build and configure ESX devices according to specific build guides.
• Work as part of a deployment team to roll out hardware solutions.
• Visit customer sites to install hardware within racks.
• Provide remote support of hardware during customer testing.
• Regularly update the Project Manager and team lead on progress.
• Engage with service teams to ensure new hardware is effectively taken into support.
• Be flexible with work hours as some implementations may occur outside normal working hours due to customer activities.

• Proven track record as an infrastructure engineer in a project environment, building solutions from build guides.
• Broad technical skills across an enterprise environment, with demonstrated skills in infrastructure management, VMWare/VSphere support, and implementation.
• Ability to work well within a team and develop positive working relationships with other project teams.
• Excellent communication skills for interactions with peers, management, and customers.
• High attention to detail.
• Experience working for large government customers.
• Self-starter who can implement solutions with minimal supervision and effectively troubleshoot issues.
• Flexibility in terms of working hours to accommodate customer needs.
