Job Title: Warehouse Operative

Location: Winchester

Contract Type: 3 Months initial contract with the potential for an extension/permanent role

Salary: £12.45 per hour

About the Role

An opportunity has become available working for Hampshire County Council on an initial 3 month contract within one of their main warehouses. This is an excellent pathway to learn about Hampshire County Council and gain knowledge and experience within a well organised and structured environment.

Job Specification

• Able to undertake a variety of tasks involving the receipt, storing, picking, packing and dispatch of
• goods using handheld PDA type P.C.'s.
• Must be able to work as part of a team and on an individual basis.
• Moving a variety of different sized and shaped items up to 30 kilos in weight.
• The main task will be picking and packing goods in the correct sequence and in a safe and secure
• The full range of tasks involved include checking off and booking in goods from suppliers, breaking
• down pallets of goods and distributing stock into correct picking locations.

Person Specification

• The warehouse is a potentially hazardous environment requiring the wearing of safety footwear and
• other suitable PPE.
• The worker will be required be on their feet for long periods of time.
• Must have good English, numeracy, and literary skills, be accurate and able to work unsupervised
• Must have basic computer literacy skills in order to use the handheld PDA.
