Waste Management Operative / Bins

• Job Type: Full time hours (up to 37 hours per week over 5 days)

Join our Waste Collection Team and contribute to maintaining cleanliness across the Borough. This role involves the collection of waste and recyclables from household and commercial properties. Occasional Saturday work may be available, offering additional hours.

• Carry out waste collections across the Borough, including all waste and recyclables from household and commercial properties.
• Operate as part of a team to achieve collection targets efficiently.
• Navigate various routes and handle bins of different sizes and weights, ensuring all tasks are completed in a safe and timely manner.
• Work in various weather conditions, handling physical tasks that require walking long distances (8 to 10 miles per day) and maneuvering bins over different gradients.

• Experience in a waste collection environment, preferably kerbside waste/recycling collections.
• Ability to work flexibly and meet physical demands of the role, including walking long distances and handling heavy bins.
• Strong understanding of health and safety regulations in a workplace setting.
• Excellent customer care skills to represent the Council positively in front-line service delivery.
• Team player with a robust work ethic and the ability to adapt to varying work conditions.
