Workforce Officer

Wakefield Council are seeking a Workforce Officer to provide comprehensive support in workforce planning, with a particular focus on absence management for Street Scene Services. This role is crucial in enabling the delivery of a citizen-focused, outward-facing service. The successful candidate will support the Street Scene Management Team in maintaining staffing levels required to provide clean, safe, accessible, and attractive streets and open spaces that enhance community belonging.

• Implement and manage comprehensive absence management systems to ensure effective workforce planning.
• Collaborate with the Street Scene Management Team to deliver services that meet community standards and expectations.
• Utilise bespoke IT systems and Microsoft Office applications to monitor and report on staff attendance and sickness.
• Support sickness management training and procedures across the team.

• Proven knowledge of attendance management, sickness absence methods, and initiatives.
• Capable of setting up and managing sickness monitoring systems and controls within staffing plans.
• A background in similar workforce management or HR administrative environments would be advantageous.
