Job Description - Workforce Support Officer G6

Workforce Planning Support Officer

  • Contract Type: Temporary, Full-time
  • Location: Wakefield, WF10
  • Hourly Rate: £14.36 PAYE

We are seeking a Workforce Planning Support Officer to provide comprehensive support services relating to workforce planning, particularly absence management for Street Scene Services. This role is crucial in enabling the delivery of a citizen-focused, outward-facing service that contributes to the Wakefield District Community Strategy, enhancing community safety and improving public spaces.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Support the Street Scene Management Team in delivering a service that ensures clean, safe, accessible, and attractive streets and open spaces.
  • Implement and manage effective sickness monitoring systems and controls within the staffing plan.
  • Deliver training and procedures on sickness management to colleagues.
  • Work closely with bespoke IT systems and Microsoft Office applications to manage and report on workforce data.
  • Use interpersonal skills to negotiate and influence others, gaining acceptance of desired positions and strategies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in workforce planning and operational management.
  • Knowledge of attendance management, sickness absence methods, and initiatives.
  • NVQ Level 3 or 4 in a relevant subject, or BTEC Higher National or equivalent qualification.
  • Willingness to work towards a CIPD professional qualification.
  • Full, current driving licence (Category B + E) with no more than 6 penalty points.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications and bespoke IT systems.
  • Strong understanding of the operational issues in providing a customer-focused service.
  • Excellent negotiation and interpersonal skills to effectively influence others.
