Yard Manager

Location: Edinburgh (Murrayburn)

Position: Permanent

Salary: £36,000 - £40,000 per annum (DOE)

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 7:15am start

Are you an experienced Yard or Warehouse professional with a forklift licence? We’re looking for a confident and proactive Yard Manager to join our busy Builders Merchants in Edinburgh.

About the Role:
As Yard Manager, you'll take full responsibility for the safe, efficient, and smooth running of our yard operations. Leading a small team, you’ll ensure deliveries and collections are handled promptly, stock is organised, and health & safety standards are always met.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all yard activities, ensuring efficiency and safety
  • Manage and motivate a team of yard staff
  • Coordinate deliveries, collections, and stock control
  • Operate forklifts and ensure proper use of equipment
  • Uphold high standards of housekeeping and health & safety


What We’re Looking For:
  • Forklift licence – essential
  • Previous experience in a builders yard or warehouse
  • Confident team leader with strong communication skills
  • Organised, reliable, and proactive approach
  • Able to work outdoors and handle physical tasks
