Yard Operative

We are looking for a responsible, outgoing Yard Operative in the Horsham area.

This Role is Monday - Friday with weekend availability required.

Main Responsibilities

- Greet customers as they visit the branch and show genuine interest in their projects
- Develop a good understanding of our product offerings to provide helpful advice and support during customer interactions
- Prepare customer orders and assist with loading and unloading goods from vehicles using appropriate equipment
- Inspect incoming deliveries, noting any discrepancies or damages, and report issues promptly
- Manage inventory levels across sales and storage areas, conducting regular stock counts to ensure accuracy
- Keep the branch environment clean and organized to create a positive first impression for visitors
- Prioritize safety procedures and promote a safe working environment for yourself and colleagues

Skills and Experience Needed

- Driving License is essential
- Experience in a similar role is advantageous but not mandatory
- Excellent organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple tasks effectively
- Strong communication skills to engage with customers and team members
- Comfortable working in both indoor and outdoor settings
- A good understanding of health and safety practices
- Ability to handle manual tasks involving heavy or bulky items safely and confidently
