Year 2 Teacher

Academics are an education recruitment agency working in partnership with primary schools across South Wales. We are currently seeking a passionate and committed Year 2 Teacher for a school located near Cwmbran, starting in September 2025.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher with a love for early Key Stage 1 learning, and a desire to nurture academic and emotional growth in young learners.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver engaging, differentiated lessons in line with the Year 2 curriculum
• Support pupils in developing core skills in literacy, numeracy, and early independence
• Track and assess progress to inform planning and next steps
• Create a positive, inclusive, and stimulating classroom environment
• Work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents/carers

Minimum Requirements:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Enhanced DBS (on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one through Academics)
• Prior experience teaching Key Stage 1, ideally Year 2
• Strong understanding of the KS1 curriculum, with the ability to adapt for a range of learning needs
• Two professional references from the last two years
