Your new company
Hays Education are currently recruiting for a Year 4/5 Teacher to cover a last-minute maternity leave at a welcoming and well-resourced primary school in Bridgwater. This full-time role is set to begin in October 2025 and will run for the duration of the maternity leave, with the potential for extension depending on school needs.
Your new role
You'll be teaching a mixed Year 4/5 class, delivering engaging and inclusive lessons across the curriculum. The school is known for its supportive leadership team and collaborative staff culture, making it an ideal environment for both Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and experienced educators seeking a rewarding new challenge. You'll be responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing pupils in line with the national curriculum, with a particular focus on preparing Year 5 pupils for their transition into upper Key Stage 2.
What you'll need to succeed

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
• Recent teaching experience within the last 5 years
• Eligibility to work in the UK
• Strong knowledge of the English National Curriculum
• A flexible and proactive approach to teaching
