Vision Teaching is working in partnership with a nurturing and inclusive two-form entry primary school in Abbey Wood to appoint a passionate Year 6 Teacher to join their team from September 2025. The school is well-regarded for its strong community ethos, inclusive values, and dedication to helping every child succeed - particularly during the crucial transition from primary to secondary education.
This is an excellent opportunity for a Year 6 Teacher who is dedicated to delivering outstanding teaching and learning, with a strong focus on SATs preparation, pupil progress, and emotional support in the final year of primary school.
Key Responsibilities:
Plan and deliver high-quality, engaging lessons that meet the expectations of the Year 6 National Curriculum
Support children’s academic and emotional readiness for secondary school, including SATs
Collaborate with your parallel Year 6 Teacher and wider Key Stage 2 team to share best practices and resources
Use formative and summative assessments to track progress and adapt teaching accordingly
Build strong partnerships with parents, carers, and the school community
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
Experience teaching in Key Stage 2, ideally as a Year 6 Teacher
A nurturing, pupil-focused teaching style with high expectations for all learners
A strong grasp of curriculum planning, assessment, and classroom management in Year 6
Excellent organisational, communication, and collaboration skills
