As a Youth Offending Team (YOT) Officer, you will lead on the assessment and delivery of Out of Court Disposals (OOCD) within the service. This includes interventions such as triage, Community Resolutions, Youth Cautions, and—during periods of high demand—Youth Conditional Cautions.
You will play a pivotal role in delivering Prevention and Diversion Assessment Tool (PDAT) assessments and interventions that are child-first, trauma-informed, and strengths-based, supporting young people away from offending behaviour. You will attend and contribute to OOCD Panels, Moving Forward planning meetings, and ensure that every intervention is tailored and effective.
Relevant experience in youth justice, social work, criminal justice, or related field.
Strong understanding of youth offending, diversion, and the youth justice system.
Skilled in assessment and delivering 1:1 interventions with young people.
Commitment to child-first principles and trauma-informed practice.
Excellent communication and partnership working skills.
