Job Summary Swindon Permanent JN -032023-1927786 Mar 24, 2023 £20k - £25k Job Description Morgan McKinley is looking for an Accounts Assistant for a well-established retail organisation based in Swindon on a permanent basis to support their cash team manage their bank transactions. Morgan McKinley is looking for an Accounts Assistant for a well-established retail organisation based in Swindon on a permanent basis to support their cash team manage their bank transactions. The successful candidate will be responsible for all elements of cash allocation and bank transactions and assist to improve the departments processes and procedures. The successful candidate will act as a point of contact to the organisations other financial teams and help to offer high quality service to the wider business. You will be tasked with the following: Complete daily GBP and USD bank downloads and reconciliations. Reconciliation of card payments and Pay-Pal accounts. Ensure all cash payments and receipts in the GBP bank accounts are recorded correctly in the accounting system. On-line payment processing and Bi-weekly payment run submission to the bank. Month end reporting for cash. Daily administration of the finance post plus scanning and distribution of other correspondence to departments. Dealing with telephone and email enquiries from internal and external customers. Taking ownership of query resolution, providing support to the team/s and appropriate escalation where necessary. Support improvement of standard operating procedures. Provide cover within the transactional finance team at busy times as required. Perform additional duties within the scope of the role as needed. What you will need: Previous Accounts Payable/transactional finance experience Computer literate including MS Excel. Strong numeracy and analytical skills with the ability to work accurately with financial information. Ability to work to prescribed deadlines and in accordance with defined processes, timetables and agreed service levels. Ability to work independently. Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail. Ability to liaise closely with other colleagues, building and maintaining good relationships. Experience in a high-volume/large dataset environment and/or similar role within a finance department would be beneficial. Minimum 5 GCSE's grade C and above (or equivalent) including Maths and English. Preferred 2 A levels or equivalent.
