Isca Recruitment is delighted to be recruiting for a proactive qualified accountant to join a dynamic business in a new position as the Management Accountant at their Exeter office.

Working as a key part of a friendly team, this is an opportunity for an individual with management accounting experience to further develop their career with a growing professional business. Reporting to the Financial Controller, the M anagement Accountant will be responsible for preparing the management accounts for the groups businesses, supporting the maintenance of the accounting ledgers and provision of other management information.

Duties:

• Producing the monthly management accounting for multiple subsidiary businesses.
• Variance analysis of the management accounts producing accurate and timely management reports.
• Financial analysis and management information reporting.
• Identifying and investigating discrepancies.
• Responding to queries
• Involvement with audit requests and the auditors which will develop over time
• Consolidation of group accounts with responsibility increasing over time
• Production of ad hoc reports and project work

Salary: £30,000 - £40,000pa depending on experience

Hours: Mon - Fri, 37.5 hours some flexibility on start and finish times

Location: Office / home based - hybrid working with 3 days per week in the office

Management Accountant - The Person:

• Relevant qualification e.g ACCA, CIMA or similar
• Recent experience of month end duties including journals, reconciliations and supporting the preparation of management accounts.
• Strong reconciliation and analysis skills.
• Proactive approach to work, willing to get stuck in with a good team spirit.
• Competent IT skills, including use of Excel (look ups and pivot tables) and accounting software.
• Professional accountancy qualification preferred but not essential.
• Confident interpersonal and communication skills.
• High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Able to plan and prioritise own work, able to work unsupervised.
• Self-starter with a desire to work in a fast-paced business, and ambition to grow with the business. Keen to learn and enthusiasm to take on new challenges.

This role is commutable from Exeter, Tiverton, Cullompton, Exmouth, Newton Abbot and surrounding areas.
