Practice Accountant Location Aberdeen :

Job Overview:We are seeking a skilled Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in financial management, financial accounting, and proficiency in various accounting software applications such as QuickBooks, Sage, PeopleSoft, and Xero.

Candidates: Part or fully qualified or qualified by experience considered. Applicants must have UK experience in a general accountancy practice.

About Us : We are an expanding accounting firm based in Aberdeen City. We are currently seeking a practice accountant to join our team in our Aberdeen office. This is an opportunity for an experienced accountant to become an integral part of our growing team and help our clients navigate the world of digital accounting.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Client Liaison : Establish and maintain effective communication with clients, providing them with accounting and tax support.
  • Digital Transformation : Assist clients in transitioning to digital accounting solutions.
  • VAT Returns : Prepare VAT returns, incorporating aspects of Making Tax Digital (MTD).
  • Accounts Preparation : Handle limited company accounts preparation and CT600 submissions.
  • Personal Tax : Prepare personal tax returns for sole traders, partnerships, and rental accounts.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks : Undertake ad hoc accounting work as required.
  • Software Expertise : Utilise accounting software, with a preference for Xero, VT Transactions, QuickBooks, Sage, and TaxFiler.
  • Experience : Ideally, a minimum of 3 years' experience within an accounting practice
  • Software Proficiency : Proficiency in TaxFiler, QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and BrightPay payroll software
  • Excel Skills : Advanced Microsoft Excel Skills
  • HMRC Interaction : Interact with HMRC on behalf of clients.
  • Payroll & CIS Awareness : Maintain awareness of payroll and CIS (Construction Industry Scheme).

Role and Schedule :

  • Type : Permanent Part and Full-time positions available
  • Hours : 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday
  • Part time position : 3-4 days Full time position: 5 days
  • Salary £27,000 pa for full time . Part time pro rata.
