ADMINISTRATIVE OFFICER

Ballymena / Part-time 4 days per week / Permanent

Salary: £23,000 per annum

Hours per week: This position is on a permanent basis, 4 days Monday to Friday hours.

Ballymena Golf Club which is situated just outside Ballymena in County Antrim near the picturesque village of Broughshane, was founded in 1903.

The golf course offers a superb scenic backdrop, with views dominated by the legendary Slemish Mountain, world renowned for it’s association with the patron saint of Ireland, Saint Patrick.

Ballymena Golf Club are seeking to recruit an experienced Administrative Officer to join their team.

About The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing an effective range of administrative and financial duties that contributes to the smooth running of the Club.

Key responsibilities will be to:

  • To take responsibility for the collection, reconciliation and documentation of any lodgements (i.e. green fees, bar takings, bar cards, membership fees etc.) Process lodgements through the bank, either online or in person. Update sage accordingly.

  • Calculation and preparation of weekly payroll including processing of workplace pensions using Sage Payroll.

  • Preparation of monthly income tax returns and other month end reports for the accountant.

  • Maintaining and administering the Club financial databases (Sage 50) and manual records and ensure that data is backed up regularly.

  • Bank Reconciliation - check statements and other financial documents for accuracy and record transactions in nominal ledger.

  • Carry out new member admin processes, including setting up of subscriptions, entering Golf Ireland and Handicap Master.

Desired Criteria

  • Previous marketing experience
  • Experience of Sage Payroll
  • Familiarity with EPoS systems
  • Experience of GOLF365PRO (BRS) and Handicap Master software packages.
  • Proven ability to deal effectively with queries / complaints

Required Criteria

  • A minimum of 4 GCSE qualifications at grade ‘C’ or above (or equivalent) to include English Language and Mathematics
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar administrative/accounts role (within the last 4 years) with experience of payroll, bank reconciliations and payment of invoices
  • Proficient in the use of Sage 50 Accounting Software and maintaining a computerised database
  • Recent experience in an administrative role dealing directly and indirectly with customers and suppliers
  • Cash handling experience
  • Excellent IT skills (MS Office suite, particularly Excel, Word and Outlook) gained within an office environment
