The Director of Operations reports to the CEO, and attends all Board meetings.
Overall Purpose
The Director of Operations is responsible for governance and operations for Edinburgh City Mission. With specificoversight of finance, fundraising, IT, HR, communications, building management and governance; including DataProtection; Safeguarding and Health & Safety. As such, they lead & line manage the Operations team andwill regularly report to the Board on all aspects of their role.
Hours of Employment
35 hours a week, worked flexibly with at least 4 days a week in the office. Hours will vary due to occasional staffmeetings, training, events, etc.

As an Operations Team Leader, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the smooth functioning of our operations whileupholding our commitment to animal welfare. You will work closely with the Animal Welfare Operations Manager,Shelter Veterinary Partner, and Director of Operations to maintain and enhance the standards of care for ouranimals.
You will guide and support our kennel and cattery assistants, ensuring they maintain the highest standards of carefor our animals. You will oversee their day-to-day activities, providing leadership to uphold our animal welfarestandards. Additionally, you will be responsible for managing the team's entire HR lifecycle, fromrecruitment to performance management, fostering a culture of well-being and professional growth among ourstaff. Collaboration with various departments will be key, as you work to streamline communication and promoteinter-departmental cooperation, ensuring the seamless flow of information throughout the Home. Additionally, youwill take the lead in developing and implementing training programmes aimed at enhancing the skills andknowledge of the team, driving continuous improvement in our operational practices.
You will have experience of motivating and developing high-performance teams. You'll excel in managing changewhile aligning with the Homes goals and maintaining current best practices. With exceptional administrativeskills and attention to detail, you'll guide your team through challenging situations with empathy andresilience. Your adept communication, IT proficiency, and understanding of the employee lifecycle will beinstrumental in creating a positive and supportive work environment.

About the Role:
Under the direction of the Board of Directors, the Chief Executive Officer is accountable for the leadership,management, and sustainability of the Students’ Association, alongside providing support to the Elected Officersenabling them to fulfil their duties to the best of their potential.
In this role, you will be required to coach, develop, and provide leadership to the Students’ Association’s staff andto take responsibility for ENSA’s management and administration within the accountability frameworks establishedby the Board of Directors.

We are looking for a manager to lead our established Community Support and Development team in Aberdeen andInverness. The post will oversee a team of four staff members (1.6 FTE).
Our targeted homelessness prevention projects are tailored to local needs and work in partnership with churches. Weengage with individuals in communities to revitalise areas where the potential for homelessness is a realconcern.
The role will involve overseeing a variety of work including the work of an existing Community Development Worker whooversees a drop-in on King Street in Aberdeen, Recovery & Resettlement Workers in Aberdeen and Inverness anda Women and Families Worker based in Torry.
Candidates will require significant experience and passion for working with people from a range of backgroundsincluding vulnerable individuals and a personal drive to see positive change in lives of people on the marginsof society.

The Community Link Worker programme, funded by EVOC & Edinburgh Health & Social Care Partnership, isdelivered in partnership with GP Practices and the 3rd sector to support people to live well throughstrengthening connections between community resources and primary care.
The Community Link Worker will be employed by Caring in Craigmillar and will work as part of two practice teams(Restalrig Park and Baronscourt) in North East Edinburgh, to provide 1:1 person-centred and practical supportsto people in contact with the GP practice team.
Taking a person-centred approach, you will work with individuals to enable them to identify personal outcomes andpriorities for their health and well-being and link them to local, city and national activities and supportservices.
The postholder must have experience of working with people who are facing complex social and emotional circumstances,a strong understanding of the challenges affecting people living in areas of disadvantage in relation to livingwell, extensive effective interpersonal skills in working with people on a 1:1 basis as well as experience innetworking and relationship building with other professionals and organisations.
