The University of Business School is seeking to appoint to a Graduate Administration Manager (GAM) role, providing administrative and management support for Postgraduate Research students and four Senior Student Administrators.
Formed in September 2022 through the merger of the Schools of Accounting & Finance and Management, the Business School has ambitious plans for its education and research contributions. This is a great opportunity to work in a demanding and rewarding environment, providing high quality support to students and academics. The GAM will work closely with the Director of PGR and play an important role in ensuring a high-quality service is provided to PGR students, from the application process right through to viva and graduation.
The role will be based in Howard House with scope for blended working in line with University and School policy and guidance.
The GAM will manage a team of four Senior Student Administrators and provide leadership for them and their plan of work. As the senior professional services colleagues supporting PGR administration, the role-holder will collaborate with relevant academic and Faculty role-holders to ensure administrative processes are understood, effective and compliant.
The Business School manages the admissions process for PGR students and the GAM will be expected to provide expert leadership in this area, working closely with colleagues at Faculty level and in External Relations / International Office. Alongside this the GAM will manage budgets and tracking spend in relation to PGR students, for example, the school contribution fund.
Supporting PGR students requires efficient, compliant processes; the GAM will ensure that there are appropriate processes in place to support all aspects of the PGR student lifecycle and will instil a culture of documentation and continuous improvement in the team.
