Lead Operatives

The Avocado Company, based at our newly invested Ripening Centre of Excellence in Paddock Wood and with grower partners around the world, is an established and growth hungry business, supplying the best quality avocados to retail, wholesale and foodservice customers in the UK and overseas. Our production facility is the heart of our business which relies on great people to make sure it runs safely and efficiently, who have the opportunity for succession planning. Our Production Lead Operatives are the key drivers to that reputation by taking responsibility for leading the performance of a designated packing line. Lead Operatives will be trained to work safely on various pieces of machinery and manual lines in order to hit their KPI’s and achieve customer orders on time and in full. As a Lead Operative you will be expected to supervise your Production Operatives, each line has approximately 12-15 operatives that you will be in charge of , including Agency workers, ensuring they are trained on and follow procedures, working practices and all company policies. An ideal Production Lead Operative should demonstrate: Willingness to take on new challenges. Enthusiasm, confidence and motivation. Some experience of using an SAP production computer system (desirable). Experience of working on a food production line. Display positive behaviours Good communication and interpersonal skills. Able to give clear instructions to a diverse group. Ability to work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines. Identify solutions of minimising waste Promote continuous improvement Remain accessible to be adaptable and flexible. The hours you would work: ~ Full time role is 5 in 7 days (various shifts and start times available) Shifts: ~05:45 - 14:15 and 13:45 - 22:15 In return we can offer you a rewarding career where every single day is different to the one before.
