Job Description - Logistics Administrator

Logistics Administrator Location Oldham : About the role

The Planning team is an essential part of this business, working closely with the Operations teams at all depots to ensure our products are delivered on time and in an efficient manner. A position has arisen for an Administrator to join the department at our Royton site! You will be responsible for

The role has various responsibilities including :

  • Controlling the flow of information between the Planning team and the National Account Management team.
  • Supporting the Driver ‘Route Request process' by taking in, responding to and reporting on driver queries in a timely manner.
  • Assisting in the capture, maintenance and review of the key data used in the route planning process; this includes extensive use of MS Excel to capture, build, report & store data.
  • The incumbent will also be responsible for the Administration of Delivery Point Risk Assessments for our Customers' locations.
  • Helping analyse transport performance data using our Power BI dashboard.
  • Extracting data from our Paragon route planning system although there will be no route planning responsibilities.
You will need

The job will involve extensive use of MS Office software, especially Excel, Word & PowerPoint and it is essential the successful applicant should be able to use Excel to a beyond beginner standard as it is key to be able to manipulate the data confidently, quickly and accurately.

Candidates should also have a good all round knowledge and be comfortable using I.T. applications in general. We will expect them to demonstrate and discuss their Excel skills in interview.

The larger part of the workload is cyclical yet the team needs to be comfortable working in a fast changing environment where some of the work can and does fall out of the day to day norm.

You will be supported by a close team in your role but be expected to have the ability to work unsupervised at times and to be comfortable following strictly documented processes closely & precisely. To that end candidates will ideally have a great deal of tenacity and be driven to complete work to a high level of accuracy. Although the role will be mostly office based at our Royton site, the successful applicant can be expected to visit our other distribution sites occasionally and might need to support the Team analysing data from our operation across a number of disciplines including our Transport & Warehouse functions. This would require a small amount of time spent in our operation.
