Multi-Trade Operative

 

Ipswich - covering East Anglia

 

£32,406 - £34,111 per year

 

40 hours per week

 

We have an opportunity for a Multi-Trade Operative to join our Responsive repairs team, based in Ipswich. With a mix of skills and qualifications, the role will involve working on repairs for both void and tenanted properties and will cover all aspects of general building repairs and maintenance. The role is mainly lone working with opportunities to work with the wider team as and when required. With a company van and tools included the role will cover the East Anglia area.

 

The role of Multi-Trade Operative will include:

• Carry out construction, fault fixing and maintenance duties in line with contract specifications
• Ensure tools and equipment are maintained in good condition and restocking these when needed
• Respond positively to complaints and breakdowns in service delivery, by resolving problems or set into motion the means of resolution, ensuring customers are kept informed
• Providing accurate and timely information on the progress of works that is easily understood by the customer
• Required to be part of our Out of Hours emergency cover on a rota. This is normally 2/3 times a year

 

Skills and experiences:

• City & Guilds qualification, NVQ 3 or relevant experience in relevant trade is essential
• Awareness of health and safety regulations and working legislation
• Skills in some of the following disciplines – Carpentry, Joinery, Plumbing, Kitchen and Bathroom installations is essential, UPVC door and window fitting would be an advantage but not essential
• Excellent customer service and communication skills
• Ability to prioritise workloads, work to deadlines and plan ahead
• This role will involve driving on company business. In order to drive a company vehicle, drivers must hold a full valid UK driving licence
