Job Description - Office Administrator

Trotts Hill Primary School is seeking an experienced and organised Administrator to join our dedicated and friendly office team. You will be part of a happy and supportive staff team who are committed to making a difference.  You will work in a dynamic environment, managing a wide range of administrative tasks and providing excellent customer service for staff, pupils, parents and visitors.

We are looking for someone with excellent communication and organisation skills. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate competency in the use of IT such as Word, Excel and Office. Training in safeguarding, first aid and office systems will be provided.

We would welcome the opportunity to meet with you and show you around our wonderful school. This post is 19 hours per week (over 3 days) and is a fixed term contract for 1 year in the first instance. 

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. An enhanced DBS Check and Health Check will be required.

H2-H3 depending on experience.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as a welcoming first point of contact for all visitors, responding to telephone and in-person inquiries professionally
  • Assist with school admissions, the termly census, and administering school trips
  • Provide clerical and secretarial support, including managing emails and maintaining records
  • Process purchase orders and maintain stationery/stock inventory
  • Support the Head Teacher/Office Manager and PE lead with various administrative tasks
  • Attend relevant training to further skills and knowledge

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in an administrative or office support role is desirable
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Strong organisational skills with an eye for detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft and student database software
  • Understanding of policies/procedures relating to areas such as data protection
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work collaboratively with staff at all levels
