Job Title: Operations Manager
Reports to: Operations Director/Head of Operations
Location: Weston-Super-Mare
Role Overview: Ensure safe, punctual, and cost-effective delivery of services, exceeding customer expectations, and maintaining compliance with policies and legislation. Act as the local representative, fostering community engagement and high safety standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver efficient, safe, and timely services.
- Analyze and manage data for continuous improvement.
- Engage with employees, management, and customers.
- Foster collaboration between operational and engineering teams.
- Manage service delivery across depots in line with company policies.
- Achieve set plans, budgets, and service quality.
- Ensure effective staff planning and manage union relationships.
- Manage key performance indicators and team development.
- Liaise with external bodies to enhance performance.
- Oversee cash handling procedures.
Site Responsibilities:
- Serve as the main contact for service delivery and compliance.
- Adhere to divisional SOPs, policies, and audit frameworks.
- Oversee Safety and Environmental responsibilities.
- Drive progress in Operational Excellence and Wrench programs.
- Ensure resolution and embedding of safety and compliance actions.
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor and enforce standards.
Skills and Experience:
- Proven leadership in a unionized environment.
- Strong negotiation and influencing skills.
- Excellent customer service orientation.
- Team-building and high-performance leadership.
- Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) in Passenger Transport desirable, willingness to study essential.
- Strong safety culture and budget management skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to manage and travel between multiple sites.
