Job Description - Payroll Operations & Transformation Manager

About the role

As a Payroll Operations & Transformation Manager, you'll lead a team of payroll and operational experts with responsibility for maximising the effectiveness and efficiency of the team. As a leader within Zellis Managed Services (ZMS), you'll own the delivery of a first-class and high qua lity service delivery to your clients. You'll be responsible for people development, individual career planning, skills assessment, performance management, and creating a team culture to provide an outstanding client experience.

You'll be the driving force behind accurate and timely management of the payroll, case management, team efficiencies, and communications to our customers, working to mitigate risk and continuously seeking opportunities for improvement.

In this role your key responsibilities will include:

  • Organisation and resource planning of the team on a quarterly basis.
  • Tracking work allocation and reassigning any overdue tasks.
  • Monitoring of controls and regular auditing to check for completeness.
  • Ensuring thequality of service delivered to customers. Monitoring customer NPS, taking feedback to implement strategies to improve.
  • Monitoring and delivery of SLAs and KPIs.
  • Attending customer service review meetings.
  • Being the final escalation point for any customer queries, dealing with incidents and providing regular updates.
  • Driving a people-led culture of development and performance, supporting and developing colleagues to achieve their career goals and objectives.
  • Supporting new business implementations.

Skills & experience

Essential skills:

  • 5+ years in a Payroll Leadership/Management role.
  • Succession planning and development experience.
  • Process optimisation knowledge and experience.
  • Ability to demonstrate and deliver continual service improvement.
  • Good knowledge and experience of HR practices.
  • Experience of managing complex and high-volume teams, performance management and objective setting.

About you:

  • An effective communicator (verbal and written) at all levels for both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multitask, deal with complexity and conflicting priorities/projects/deals at the same time.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with the capability to engage with stakeholders at different levels.
  • Accomplished at working effectively across teams in a matrixed operating model, with ability to proactively plan resource.
