As a Barclays Operational Data Manager, you’ll be the key element driving the governance & architecture of all operational data within Global Technology Infrastructure Services (GTIS). This is an exciting role, where you will work with cross-functional teams to ensure that the organisation's data architecture aligns with business requirements and industry best practices, which will involve establishing and implementing data standards, policies, and procedures to ensure data integrity, security, and compliance is adhered to for the Bank.

• Developing and communicating a clear vision and strategy for operational data management and architecture aligned with GTIS’s overall goals
• Working with senior leadership to identify and prioritise data-related initiatives that drive operational excellence and efficiency
• Establishing and enforcing data governance policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy, security, and privacy of operational data
• Ensuring compliance with relevant data regulations and industry standards, such as GDPR or GDMS specific data governance requirements
• Designing and maintaining a scalable and efficient operational data architecture that supports the GTIS’s operational processes
• Identifying and implementing data integration solutions to enable seamless data flow across various operational systems and platforms
• Monitoring and optimising data performance through effective data management and architecture practices

What we’re looking for:
• Proven experience in the field of Data Management and Data Architecture
• Solid grasp of data management principles, best practices and industry standards
• Expertise in data architecture, including data modelling, data catalog, data lineage and design
• Experience in implementing and managing data governance and compliance programs

Skills that will help you in the role:
• Experience of working and managing data governance for Apache or Confluent Kafka
• Experience of working on Data Platforms for managing Data Lineage
• Solid understanding of Datawarehouse and Data Lake concepts
• Experience of working with Elastic Search ( Esaas )

Where will you be working?
You will be based in Radbroke, Knutsford. The Barclays Technology Campus just outside Manchester is our tech command centre and a vital strategic powerhouse behind our global operations. The campus is set in a 64 acre self-contained site, in a beautiful green environment and it offers unrivalled facilities for work and for play. We have an onsite gym, as well as outdoor tennis, football and cricket areas, as well as onsite restaurant and coffee shops.
