Job Description - Construction Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION Construction Manager opportunity for a flagship North Sea Decarbonisation project, rooted in sustainability and contributing to the NET ZERO 2030 roadmap. As Construction Manager on this high-profile role, you will perform a pivotal role in one of Woods most ambitious projects. This is an opportunity to lead, innovate and make a lasting difference. You will be at the helm of the construction effort, guiding a dedicated team and overseeing the successful execution of a FLOTEL campaign in 2025. The project has attracted interest from multiple industry bodies, as well as governmental organisations and other influential stakeholders, so it is not suitable for entry level managers. RESPONSIBILITIES

Stakeholder collaboration will be a critical aspect of this role and the Construction Manager will be expected to own the construction effort in all aspects including:

  • Leading the Wood construction team
  • Managing the construction effort as a project
  • Taking control and leading the effort for the Wood scope for the Flotel campaign, expected to be up to 140 personnel offshore.
  • Innovation and continuous improvement to streamline and add efficiency to the overall operation
  • Safety and compliance to both Wood and Customer standards as a minimum.
QUALIFICATIONS Appropriate level of construction experience in relevant industry sector. Extensive practical experience if degree qualified OR trade discipline qualified with relevant practical experience Excellent technical knowledge of construction discipline and associated processes Ability to identify risk to delivery, build in and implement mitigation / contingency plans Expert level of experience of interpreting discipline documentation. Advanced knowledge and understanding of Risk Assessments (RA), Hazard and Operability Studies (HAZOPS) and Hazard Identification Studies (HAZIDS). Expert level knowledge and understanding of technical specifications Understands the business drivers within customer organisations and is able to influenced these through innovative designs and cost effective solutions.
