Job Description - Electrical Engineer

NES Fircroft are delighted to be partnering with an Energy industry giant to support their multi-billion dollar LNG project.


The client are looking to add a Electrical Engineer to their team working from their sub contractor offices in London, UK.


The role will be contract based offering a strong day rate of pay, outside of IR35. Initial duration will be for 12 months and is support early works developments for the project.


To be considered for this role, it is essential candidates have existing Right To Work in the UK. Candidates without this can not be considered for this role. Additional to this, candidates must be prepared to work in London 5 days per week.



About Role
During the FEED and EPSCC Phase, the service holder shall be responsible to:

  • review and comment Contractor / Supplier documentation in a timely manner (including load list, system selection studies, electrical drawings, specifications, requisitions, etc.). Consolidate comments related to electrical deliverables;
  • Liaise with other engineering specialist(s), and entity (Operations…) as required.
  • Ensure that the engineering document related to electrical matters are performed in compliance with applicable laws and regulations (Oceania Region), Contextualized specification (GS), with required level of quality, high HSE standards, with respect of the Project highly sensitive environment, and within
the agreed time schedule and cost.
  • Provide support to promptly respond to Contractor clarifications, request for deviations and unexpected technical issues, by a proactive and proficient approach.
  • Provide support in his field of expertise, to compare and evaluate the CPF-Wellpads FEED Contractors during the FEED competition phase (2).
  • Assist the Procurement in the preparation of the documents for purchase, the bid evaluation and inspection.
  • Ensure proper reporting, highlighting critical issues and proposing remedial actions.

  • Effectively engaged in project cost reduction initiatives.

  • Engineering compliance: To support compliance of electrical engineering with the Project requirements and applicable
  • standards.
  • To support issuance and follow-up of Derogations requests to GS-EP-ELE
  • To support timely implementation of related audit findings.
  • Reporting: To ensure adequate and timely reporting as required
About Project
  • The client LNG Project is a key project as it is its first major petroleum investment in country (Oceania)
  • The LNG Project is a combine onshore and offshore development project comprising:
  • Well pads and the upstream gathering network including flowlines and two parallel multiphase trunklines
  • Upstream Central Processing Facility (CPF), approximately 30 kms from the field
  • Main onshore and offshore export system consisting of a single-phase gas pipeline and a condensate pipeline
  • Integration in existing liquefaction plant located 325 km from the CPF in the vicinity of host countries capital city.
Qualification & Experience required:
  • Qualification: Master’s degree in electrical engineering, or equivalent
    • Languages: English mandatory
    • Professional Experience: 15+ years in Oil and Gas projects
    • Experience in similar position (years): 10+ years at same or equivalent position
    • Demonstrated engineering experience in electrical system design for onshore LNG Projects, commissioning and startup.
    • Practicebased knowledge of AS (Australian Standards): mandatory.
    • Affiliation and membership with Australian recognised professional bodies is desirable.
