About the role

As our Public Relations Manager, you will play a pivotal role in enhancing our reputation through effective media engagement and external communication.

By understanding the views and interests of external stakeholders, especially media, you will create and deliver public relations plans, incorporating compelling campaigns and communications activity in support of our purpose and corporate objectives. You will also establish positive relationships with key journalists as well as managing positions on key corporate issues and handling media enquiries to enhance the reputation of the Society. By building strong connections with colleagues across the business to keep abreast of business priorities and shared goals, you will help the External Relations function play an integral role in the Society.

What will you bring to the role?

We're looking for someone who can demonstrate:

• Significant experience of operating within public relations or corporate affairs
• A track record of working with media at a national, regional and specialist level to establish long-standing and constructive relationships
• Experience of proactively developing PR campaigns and communications activity which support business objectives
• Working collaboratively and openly with colleagues across different functions and departments
• Excellent analytical abilities, identifying opportunities and risks in relation to reputation
