Job Description - Principal Energy Specialist

Principal Energy Specialist – Built Environment

Climate17 is delighted to be working with a leadingenergy and environmentconsultancy who endeavour to ensure every new building is good for people and good for the planet.
They are growing their focus on supporting the development and delivery of detailed energy strategies for highly complex residential and non – residential developments. You will use your existing knowledge and skills in energy consultancy and assessment to coordinate delivery of projects by more junior employees, leading on service development, skill and training, business development and delivery across energy assessment services.
The role will also involve the management and leadership of multi-disciplinary projects, responding to client briefs offering a range of innovative strategies and solutions to clients. You will be exposed to a wide range of services within the company, learning and benefitting from the experience of others.
Requirements

  • A relevant degree and/or substantial experience in the sector.
  • 5 - 7 years’ experience in energy assessment and consultancy for residential and non-residential development.
  • Membership or working towards a relevant industry body (e.g., CIBSE, EI, IMechE, IEMA, IEnvSc etc.).
  • Experience and qualification in more than one of the following: SAP assessment/OCDEA, SBEM/LCEA, development of energy strategies, u-value calculations, thermal bridging assessment.
  • Project management experience, ideally for multi-service energy and environmental consultancy projects.
  • Working knowledge of CDM Regulations, the Building Safety Act and other relevant health and safety requirements for working on construction projects.
  • Technical leadership and service development experience.
