Job Description - Project Planner - Construction

Our client is a well-known high-end fitout & restoration contractor based in South London. They provide bespoke fibrous plastering finishes, high end fit out & heritage restoration services to commercial and high-end residential properties across the UK. Due to a strong forward order book confirmed for 2024, they need a Project Planner (PMO) to join their team. As Project Planner - Construction, you will be responsible for resource allocation and general project organisation. You will be a key player in project planning & change, while also being the main point of contact for all stakeholders and clients. This role presents an opportunity to work on some of the most prestigious projects/buildings in the country, and would suit a meticulous, driven & ambitious professional. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in project management office (PMO) operations and systems implementation, particularly within the context of luxury interior projects, or general construction. This role requires a strategic mindset, advanced technical proficiency, and exceptional organisational skills to drive project success through effective systems and processes.

Responsibilities - Project Planner - Construction
  • Develop and implement project management office processes, methodologies, and governance frameworks tailored to the unique requirements of high-end interior fit-out projects.
  • Lead the selection, customisation, and deployment of project management systems and tools to streamline project planning, execution, and monitoring processes.
  • Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to evaluate project performance, track progress, and identify areas for improvement, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and objectives.
  • Establish resource allocation processes and tools to optimize resource utilisation, including manpower, equipment, and materials, across multiple projects to maximise efficiency and productivity.
  • Develop risk management strategies and protocols to identify, assess, and mitigate project risks, ensuring proactive risk mitigation and contingency planning to minimise project disruptions and delays.
  • Serve as a central point of contact for project stakeholders, facilitating clear and effective communication, collaboration, and alignment throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Implement quality management processes and procedures to ensure adherence to quality standards, regulatory requirements, and client specifications, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Lead change management initiatives to facilitate smooth project transitions, manage stakeholder expectations, and mitigate resistance to change, ensuring successful project outcomes and client satisfaction.
Requirements - Project Planner - Construction
  • Proven experience in project management office (PMO) operations, systems implementation, and project management methodologies within the interior fit-out or construction industry.
  • Advanced proficiency in project management software tools such as Microsoft Project.
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organisation.
  • Experience in the construction industry, particularly within the luxury interior fit-out sector is essential.
  • Full time & office based.
