Covering the North and Scotland Dealer Region

Circa £55,000 dependent on experience (Inc Company Car Scheme) As we venture into the UK Market with our new fully electric buses, we are seeking an Area Service Manager to join our Service Market Team. If you thrive in a fast-paced, challenging but rewarding environment that is focused on delivering a second-to-none customer experience, then this could be the role for you. As an Area Service Manager, you will be Volvo Buses' first-line contact with customers and dealers to ensure our customers receive a best-in-class experience. Your main responsibility will be to investigate and resolve technical, service, and commercial aftermarket issues, working closely with customers and regional dealer teams. You will manage the resolution of customer concerns, ensuring a high level of focus and priority on individual actions and concerns. Moreover, you will drive customer and key customer liaison meetings and support the development of customer business opportunities. As our Area Service Manager, you will collaborate with Volvo Bus Service Manager, the Regional Dealer teams, Volvo Action Service, and Volvo Bus Technical Support team. You will also be in direct liaison with customers, ensuring their concerns and issues are effectively addressed.

Your Responsibilities:

  • Providing technical advice/help to the Regional Dealer technical team concerning specific customer or product issues.
  • Reporting any product quality/performance concerns back to Volvo Bus through the appropriate channels.
  • Assisting in fault diagnosis, problem investigation, field trials, and service actions as required.
  • Highlighting and managing Customer VORs (Vehicle Off Road) to maintain a high level of customer uptime.
  • Advising customers on Volvo Bus warranty and campaign/policy actions, managing warranty claims within agreed budget parameters.
  • Following up on Regional Dealer Campaign performance and ensuring appropriate customer reporting.
  • Liaising with the Regional Dealer team to ensure effective Bus Technician / Bus Key Technician training and coaching platform exists for effective customer support.
  • Recognising and developing customer business opportunities, and working with the Regional Dealer team to maximise these opportunities.

Key Skills/Requirements

Willingness to travel and stay away from home as and when the role requires.
Full and clean driving license.
Knowledge of the Bus and Coach Industry and a strong technical background.
Demonstrate knowledge of modern vehicle systems, electronics and diagnostics,
HNC or equivalent qualification in engineering
Proven problem-solving skills using a methodical and cost-effective approach.
Strong organisational skills, with the ability to handle numerous tasks simultaneously and prioritise issues.
Ability to search out, analyse, and present new ideas for continuous improvement.
