Full time hybrid working customer service position in Birmingham. Weekly pay, £11.09 per hour with holiday Your new company Due to the partnership between Hays and Birmingham City Council, we are looking for a number of customer service advisors to join the Annual Billing team within the council. Being the largest leading local authority in the whole of Europe, Birmingham City Council are renowned for their expertise in public services and endless opportunities. Birmingham City Council provides the city's residents with 25 different services to ensure stability within citizens daily lives. Your new role All residents who fall under Birmingham City Council are liable for the payment of council tax, Each new financial year citizens receive their new annual bill. The roe of the advisor is to assist callers to understand their bill, set up payment plans and Direct Debits, and in some cases advise the callers regarding summons and charges. The annual billing period is the busiest time of year for revenues and so staff will be required to cover the annual billing period and so no annual leave will be approved during this time. Working hours are 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday with a minute break and 30 minute lunch break - both unpaid. This is a full time hybrid working position. If successful you will have 8 weeks of training, up to 3 weeks will be remote working and up to 5 weeks will be office based training, once you have passed the training period you will be working from home, however you may be required to attend the office for any further training days throughout your assignment. What you'll need to succeed The ideal candidate should have strong customer service skills and have confidence working on their own. Candidates from call centre/contact centre or telesales environment will benefit from the nature of this role as you will be familiar with working in a fast-paced environment. Staff will be required to cover the full contractual period with NO annual leave booked for the next 8 weeks. This role also requires you to hold a clear Basic DBS, Hays will process this for you at no cost from yourself.
