Associate Practice Educator
Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice
22.5 Hours per week (3 Days)
£23,132 - £26,202 per annum, pro rata DOE Be there when it matters

About us: Sue Ryder Wheatfields Hospice is in Headingley, Leeds. We provide expert palliative care. We support people when they’re living with a life-limiting condition, and also help their loved ones and family. About the Role: The Associate Practice Educator will work closely alongside the Practice Educator to support the development of learners on various educational & training programmes, as directed by the Practice Educator. Responsibilities: To support the Practice Educator with the preparation and delivery of both the theoretical and practical components of educational, developmental and training programmes, using a range of teaching/learning styles within scope of practice. You will coach learners on various educational and training programmes, support career progression of the unregistered clinical workforce including care certificates, apprenticeships and other programmes of learning, undertake tutorials with learners ensuring that both academic and clinical milestones of the programme are met and report issues for action to the Practice Educator. About you: You will have a Foundation Degree in Health Studies; Assistant Practitioner (England); Foundation Degree in Health or Nursing Associate · Clinically up-to-date, with significant recent nursing associate experience
· Experience in mentoring effectively
· Experience in assessing learners
· Experience of participating in clinical audit
· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Ability to be an effective teacher and facilitator
· Organisational and time management skills
· Ability to work on own initiative
· Presentation skills, with the ability to use PowerPoint (or be prepared to undertake training)
