Department The Centre for Teaching and Learning (CTL) supports the academic development of teaching at the University by:    o                advising on course and curriculum design    o                enabling the adoption of new technology and digital resources    o                assisting in piloting new teaching methodology.    We support the most valuable teaching practices at the collegiate University and provide guidance for students and staff as they adopt new practices.    We work to empower communities of educators and students to work together to advance Oxford’s outstanding personalised teaching for the contemporary world.    Digital Education Advisers/Assistants work with colleagues across Oxford to support their use of  digital education to achieve their aims for teaching and learning. About the Role As a Digital Education Assistant you will join the agile Digital Education Team in the CTL where you will build strong relationships with colleagues across Oxford, providing services, advice, and hands-on support to help achieve educational goals and improve local practices. You will offer support to academic and administrative staff, helping them design and implement flexible, inclusive learning pathways and interactive learning assets. You will also develop guidance materials and support training sessions and workshops that that help our staff improve their digital education skills. Staying current in digital education you will help support specific tools, processes, or pedagogical approaches, such as learning design or AI, assisting staff using those tools. Your responsibilities may also include generating data and reports, checking compliance with legislative requirements such as digital accessibility and data protection, and providing second-line support for digital education through our Service desk.   About You Your foundation in digital education will bring practical knowledge to the role, enabling you to contribute to the development of teaching and learning with technology at Oxford. Your technical skills will draw on pedagogical principles, helping your interventions enhance the experience of students and staff while adhering to best practice.  You will have experience of supporting professional development opportunities for staff, empowering them to use digital tools effectively.  You will be proficient in using a range of digital education tools such as Canvas and Panopto as well as allied digital education technologies in areas including accessibility, testing new features and tools, assessment, polling and collaboration, helping you support diverse needs within an academic setting.  You will possess good organisational and problem-solving skills, enabling you to manage  priorities effectively and work autonomously with minimal supervision. Your  written and verbal skills will allow you to communicate  information clearly and effectively. Furthermore, your interpersonal skills will enable  collaboration with colleagues from various University departments and roles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement in digital education.  Application Process You will be required to upload a covering letter/supporting statement, CV and the details of two referees as part of your online application.
