Education and Academic Services This part-time (0.6FTE) post is available immediately on a permanent basis. The starting salary will be from £31,502 on Grade E pro rata, depending on qualifications and experience. We have an exciting opportunity for an Education Support Advisor to join our Education Support Team, working with our Strategy and Security Institute programmes. The Education and Academic Services (EAS) Directorate provides all of the key administration and education support activities that underpin the student experience from Fresher's week to Graduation. This role is within the Education Support team which provides the core and critical operational support for teaching administration and support for delivery of taught undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. About the role All staff within Education Services are expected to work on-campus as well as from home, as required by the role. The successful candidate will also be required to work on campus during the delivery of short courses. All new external appointments to the team will be asked to work from campus for up to 3 days per week, whilst training is completed. This role is expected to take operational responsibility for the delivery of taught programmes across the Strategy and Security Institute, including supporting postgraduate programmes and the management of short courses, delivered under contract to external partners. It would be advantageous for the post-holder to have experience of financial processes, such as payments and expenses, as well as of arranging hospitality. Programme delivery will also include supporting field trips as well as standard elements of education support, such as student support and the administration of assessment and awards. This role will involve working closely with the SSI Director and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders, including external speakers. The role holder will work in close collaboration with the Faculty Operations team in delivering effective administrative support to the Strategy and Security Institute and will act as a key point of contact for programme and Institute enquiries. This role will be based in the Knightley building on the university campus, although aligned to the Amory Hub team, and would be expected to act as a flexible member of a wider team, offering support and assistance across all teaching and education programmes, and/or changing responsibilities and deploying expertise as required by developments of the Department/programmes and the needs of the service. The Education Support Advisor role has a key responsibility to ensure that the overall team complement for Education Support is working effectively to deliver a seamless and high-quality service, within any distinct programme or Department responsibility allocations and also to broader Education Support and Student Services service standards.
