Job Description - Educator Educator

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 6 within the Childrens Professional Development Education Team within the Paediatric Education Centre. The focus of this role will be driving quality and service improvement within the Leeds Childrens Hospital (LCH) through education, mandatory training, priority training and professional development education. The applicant must possess excellent organisational skills and be highly motivated with the ability to motivate and inspire others through the creation of an innovative culture of education and the ability to implement the strategy to achieve this. The post holder would be responsible for overseeing and facilitating induction training and annual update training for new starters and existing staff including all Registered Nurses, Registered Nursing Associates and Non-Registered clinical facing staff. You will be responsible for providing quality assurance of teaching content, competency packages and online learning. The post holder will be required to keep an audit trail of training provided across LCH and role model collaborative working with wider teams including the nurse specialist teams throughout childrens services and teams throughout LTHT. Additional aspects of the role will include working with the Lead Nurse for Childrens Education and Lead Nurse for Quality in responding to the learning actions from clinical audits, incidents, service improvement to ensure patient and staff safety. The post holder will work with the childrens education team to instigate further training and education required for existing staff through clinical skills training and implementation of operational planning that requires seasonal training annually. The Jobholder will play an essential role supporting Nursing and Midwifery education by facilitating education, training and practice development within Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust. The job holder will support the assessment of the quality of clinical and other practice learning environments, and implement interventions for improvement. The job holder will support practice assessors/supervisors and clinical professional development for preceptorship. As a role model they will promote the sharing of good practice and delivery of high quality, effective and efficient care. To support, educate and develop registered and unregistered staff in their clinical role and competencies in order to deliver high quality evidence-based care for service users. The post holder will contribute to the planning, implementation and evaluation of education and training of registered and unregistered nursing staff. They will work in collaboration with the senior management team to maintain and project the vision and objectives of the service and ensure that they are embedded in practice. They will identify and celebrate good practice and share with local and Trust teams. The post holder will lead by example, will be responsible for disseminating good practice and actively challenging assumptions, practice and performance where appropriate. Registered Children's Nurse Recognised teaching/assessing qualification Degree Level Education or evidence of working towards PG Certificate Clinical Education Transferrable education experience Able to fulfil Occupational Health requirements for the post (with reasonable adjustments if necessary), including clearance on blood borne viruses in compliance with Trust Policy Working with a wide range of professionals including medical, nursing and management colleagues Clinical Education Evidence of quality improvement Leeds Teaching Hospitals
