Job Description - Educator Nurse

Clinical Nurse Educator (NHS AfC: Band 6) - Critical Care Complex - Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust – Norwich, Norfolk Critical Care Nursing is a unique combination of working with the latest techniques and technology and delivering the highest standards of individualised care to patients. We are currently recruiting for Deputy Clinical Nurse Educators to join our Critical Care team to support the Nursing team with their educational needs. We are looking to recruit motivated and dynamic individuals, with relevant critical care experience, who can bring enthusiasm to the Critical Care Clinical Education team. The successful candidates will be required to work clinically with our new starters and students to ensure they get their competencies signed off. The Critical Care Complex is a 28 bedded unit which provides care to patients requiring level 2 and level 3 support from a variety of specialties; post-operative care for major surgeries, organ support for both Medical and Surgical patients and emergencies via the Emergency Department. Our team of over 150 Nurses and 14 Critical Care Consultants are supported by a range of other healthcare professionals to deliver care to our patients. We work as a highly skilled, multi-disciplinary team providing care across a range of specialties. The successful candidates should have extensive recent experience within a comparable Critical Care setting, and should be Qualified in Specialty. Practice as a professional nurse, with confidence, authority and expertise, acting as a role model for all staff in the pursuit of clinical excellence and ensuring the provision of a high quality service. Ensure the practice of self and others is in accordance with the NMC Code and work within limits of competence Contribute to the development of policies and guidelines in relation to nursing practice in the Critical Care Complex. Explore creative approaches to professional development in order to meet individual learning needs in a safe and supportive environment. Provide supervision, teaching and support for individuals in the clinical area. With nursing colleagues and the multi-disciplinary team nurture a motivational environment which supports and encourages personal and professional growth. Liaise with the Nursing Practice and Education Department re developments and needs both for Registered and Non Registered staff. Participate in the recruitment and selection of nursing staff.
