Milton Keynes College Prison Services Team at HMYOI Aylesbury are seeking innovative Teachers to work with a diverse group of learners, helping to build their confidence, develop their skills and achieve within a college environment. The College are looking for candidates interested in variable/ad-hoc and permanent hours, who are keen to explore Prison Education. Functional Skills English - Entry to Level 2 Functional Skills Maths - Entry to Level 2 Cleaning, Warehousing & Digital Skills A teaching qualification would be desirable, however those willing to work towards a teaching qualification who hold supporting subject specialism or industry experience would also be considered - we can provide the training to help you achieve your full potential. Prison education runs all year round, all day Monday-Thursday and until lunchtime on a Friday. Delivery hours vary slightly prison to prison but full days are split across 2 long lessons (Morning and Afternoon). We particularly encourage applications from people with backgrounds which are currently under-represented within Milton Keynes College. HMP Aylesbury is a Cat C Training prison. The Education Department works closely with our prison colleagues to deliver courses that help prepare learners for employment on release to the community. English and Maths Functional Skills, Employability, EDSQ, Hospitality, Customer Service, Health & Safety, Music Technology, Mentoring, Barbering, Industrial Cleaning. This is complemented by an Outreach provision and distance learning courses at Level 3 and beyond. In the department we believe the opportunity to gain skills and knowledge will help our learners to end their offending behaviour.?
