Job Description - Vessels Engineer

NES Fircroft are working with a global engineering company who are looking to add a Vessels Engineer to their Stockton Office on a permanent basis.


THE ROLE
We are seeking a skilled Pressure Vessels and Finite Element Analysis Engineer to join the Engineering department of our Upstream Business. As part of this role, you will be responsible for designing and analysing pressure vessels, particularly those used in Blast Furnaces. Some analysis of mechanical equipment also related to Blast Furnaces and associated plant will also be required. Your expertise will contribute to ensuring safety, compliance with international standards and optimal performance of these critical components. MAIN TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Perform detailed design and analysis of pressure vessels, including Blast Furnace components, using finite element analysis (FEA) techniques.
  • Proficiently use engineering software tools, including ANSYS.
  • Collaborate with cross functional teams including mechanical, Electrical and Project Management.
  • Evaluate structural integrity, stress distribution and fatigue life of vessels under various operating conditions.
  • Prepare technical reports, design documentation and short justifications for the acceptance or rejection of site requests/modifications.
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related field.
  • Proven experience in pressure vessel design and finite element analysis
  • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Proficiency in ANSYS
  • Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
