Job Description - Advanced Healthcare Practitioner

The post holder will work in the institute of care excellence supporting the research and innovation department 18.75hrs a week as the research and innovation advanced clinical practitioner. They will play an integral role within the research and innovation department at NUH where they will be expected to work across sites as well as the biomedical research centre supporting research delivery and the NUH R+I strategic plan. The ACP will be expected to develop their own skills and knowledge in regards to research and innovation. They will also support the clinical education of the R+I team in developing clinical skills and knowledge to enhance the department's research delivery. They will lead and support the implementation of relevant research into practice contributing to the further development of evidence base practice. The ACP will be expected to be the link between the research and innovation department and NUH ACP teams in order to enhance the delivery of the clinical research agenda, build research collaborations and drive the dissemination of research. The ACP will also support the development of research capacity and capability within ACP teams, enhancing their skills and knowledge through education and training Whilst working as the research and innovation advanced clinical practitioner 18.75 hours a week they will be expected to continue in their current ACP role within their clinical specialty, where they will use specialist knowledge and skills to provide healthcare autonomously to patients in their area. To lead the implementation of relevant research into practice contributing to the further development of the evidence base. Support the clinical education of the R+I team in developing clinical skills and knowledge to enhance the departments research delivery. To be the link between the research and innovation department and NUH ACP teams in order to enhance the delivery of the clinical research agenda build research collaborations and drive the dissemination of research. Support the development of research capacity and capability within ACP teams, enhancing their skills and knowledge through education and training. Demonstrate knowledge of current research in all aspects of his/her work and to advise others on the implementation of relevant research findings. Develop skills to lead the development of research proposals with the multidisciplinary team. Initiate and/or become involved in research projects in response to identified service needs. Training and Qualifications Current registration with professional body such as NMC or HCPC. Registered Independent Non-Medical prescriber. Qualification/training in research and innovation GCP training Evidence of continued professional development following MSc completion. Evidence of involvement in policy and practice change. Evidence of publishing and presenting research and innovation Communication skills that facilitate building honest and trusting partnerships with patients, families and carers. Ability to respond to, prioritise and analyse complex health conditions and ensure effective interventions are actioned in a timely manner. Ability to work with undifferentiated and undiagnosed healthcare problems. Participation in research or audit projects. Lead in audit or research. Planning and organisation skills Ability to schedule academic workload and work commitments Able to identify learning opportunities and able to organise own learning and development. Ability to undertake computer and other equipment skills.
