An exciting opportunity is available for a registered mental health or paediatric nurse to join the CYP Community Eating Disorders Team. We are looking for a nurse who is passionate about eating disorders, disordered eating and ARFID to join our service to offer additional assessment and support to children and young people that require admission to our local paediatric beds. The role is diverse and requires the successful applicant to have a strong understanding of the physical and emotional risks of poor nutrition . The role is primarily to support children, young people and their carers who require an acute admission. The role is also to support colleagues in the acute hospitals support young people who require our service involvement. Another important aspect of the role is to triage all referrals to the service, ensuring timely access to services following NHS England access & waiting guidelines, this requires knowledge of the associated risks for young people accessing our services. Attend paediatric wards daily when young people from the service are admitted, offering assessment and support. Supporting young people with therapeutic intervention until allocated a therapist. Provide consultation to colleagues in the wider services that support children and young people. NHFT is an integrated primary care and mental health Trust, providing physical, mental health and specialty services in both hospital settings and out in the community. This means many of our services can be provided at home, work or in schools.We also provide health services to various prisons and detention centres in Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.
