Job Description - Assistant Service Delivery Manager


An exciting opportunity has arisen, to join the operational management team in the Respiratory Medicine and Infectious Diseases services, within the Integrated Medicine Division. As part of the post you will also be required to work at Northwick Park and Central Middlesex Hospital. Working closely with the General Manager and Service Manager you will be supporting a the specialist services covering outpatient, diagnostic, 2ww and day-care services, as well as supporting on the management of doctors and other clinical staff as required. This is a varied role which will enable you to develop management skills including capacity planning, problem solving, negotiation skills and relationship management.
• Manage personal workload to meet both corporate and personal deadline
• Manage staff and delegate appropriate tasks, ensuring competence of the staff
• Undertaking capacity and demand exercises in order to best plan and deliver services
• Investigate and respond to PALS, DATIX and Complaints and implement changes, highlighted as part of learning from them
• Facilitate collaborative working between all stakeholders inside and outside of the Directorate.
• Support the development of collaborative partnerships and effective working relationships with clinical staff, managers and members of the multi-disciplinary team(MDT), creating an environment within which all staff have an opportunity to become closely involved in, or have genuine opportunity to influence and improve, the management, planning and development of services.
• Identify changes that required to deliver the service and actively implement these changes with the support of the Service Manager
• Seek to work with a “problem solving approach” in order to identify solutions to challenges in the service.
• Produce, monitor and deliver Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) and attend meetings as required.
• Robust staff management for admin and clinical staff, including rota management, sickness absence and performance management
• Analyse outcome measures and activity data relating to service performance in relation to 18 weeks pathways, 2ww cancer targets, Length of Stay, Elective Recovery Plan activity and DM01 London North West University Healthcare NHS Trust (LNWH) cares for the people of Brent, Ealing, Harrow and beyond. Our team of more than 8,200 clinical and support staff serve a diverse population of almost one million people. We run major acute services at:
• Northwick Park Hospital: home to one of the busiest emergency departments (A&E) in the country. The hospital provides a full range of services including the country’s top-rated hyper-acute stroke unit and one of only three hyper-acute rehabilitation units in the UK
• St Mark’s Hospital: an internationally renowned specialist centre for bowel disease
• Ealing Hospital: a busy district general hospital providing a range of clinical services, as well as 24/7 emergency department and urgent care centre, and specialist care at Meadow House Hospice
• Central Middlesex Hospital: our planned care site, hosting a range of surgical and outpatient services and collocated with an urgent care centre.
