 Deliver quality healthcare support including dressing, washing, bathing, serving
meals.
 To assist the residents with their toileting needs, including continence promotion.  To change beds, tidy residents’ rooms and do light cleaning.
 To assist residents with mobility problems, including those with mobility aids, where appropriate.
 Utilising equipment to move patients when necessary
 Ensuring that clients are encouraged to eat a healthy, balanced diet and the correct quantities.
 Ability to communicate effectively and respond in appropriate manner with the
residents and other healthcare professionals.
 Monitoring and updating residents’ records and help the nurse with medication
administration.
 To convey relevant information about the residents’ conditions to the nurse in
charge and paying particular attention to any changes observed.
 To help to maintain a safe environment for staff, residents and visitors, through
awareness of health and safety policies and by attending training as required.
 Understand and adhere to the procedure for handling complaints and ensure that they are dealt with promptly and sympathetically.
