About the Role

We seek to expand our team of scientific editors for iScience. An open-access journal of Cell Press, publishing original research in life, health, physical, earth and social sciences. We're looking for a dynamic and enthusiastic Scientific Editor passionate about helping scientists publish promptly and effectively.

Responsibilities

Assessing submitted research papers

Overseeing the peer review process for direct submissions and transferred contributions

Recruiting exciting research papers and fostering communities of interest

Commissioning review content

Establishing relationships with researchers

Requirements

Have a PhD in life sciences (essential).

Have previous editorial experience or demonstrable experience in scholarly, publishing as an author, referee, etc.

Have great interpersonal skills. Collaboration and networking are core aspects of the job

Have an excellent ability to communicate clearly both verbally and in writing
