Job Description - Head of Human Resources

Job Description

We are looking for a strategic HR Leader for a new fast-paced dynamic project. We are seeking someone with a pragmatic approach and strong stakeholder management.

KNOWLEDGE, COMPETENCIES & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

  1. Experience of working with Trade Unions
  2. Shaping and leading a team of HR Business Partners, developing their skills and capabilities to develop close working relationships with management teams and provide proactive, commercially-focused HR solutions, input, and advice.
  3. Lead the development and implementation of an ER framework for all key ER activities, including, but not limited to grievance and disciplinary investigations, absence and performance management etc.
  4. Mentor and guide HR Business Partners through the sharing of knowledge and role modeling to help them develop their remit and become trusted business partners for the business area they support.
  5. Experience of managing large-scale, complex TUPE transfers
  6. Build, implement, and sustain a data-informed Employee Relations strategy while ensuring legal and regulatory compliance.
  7. Work on projects and initiatives to mitigate risk, support or participate in special projects/programs requiring ER stakeholder input.
  8. Represent the organization in contract negotiations, meetings, and negotiations with employee and Union Representatives.
  9. Take the strategic lead on shaping the HR Business Partner service.
  10. Work closely with the HR Director on strategic and confidential projects as required.
  11. Work closely with senior managers to identify and meet their wider people and strategic needs.
  12. Utilize and champion HR metrics to aid understanding and strategy across the operations and provide insight and analysis on people themes for the HRD and Management Teams.
  13. Support the embedding and development of a positive and progressive culture at all levels across the business partnering function.
  14. Working effectively with the other HR Departments to deliver a seamless and effective HR service to the business.
  15. Manage HR documentation confidentially and in line with the Data Protection Act, maintaining the integrity of electronic/hard copy files and document storage and complying with audit requests.
  16. Set HR practice and procedure for the team and business in line with statutory requirements.
  17. Autonomous decision making in line with the process and risk level.
  18. Manage relationships with external bodies such as Occupational Health, ACAS, Trade Unions, Employment Law Advisors.
  19. Identify opportunities for people-related cost savings and efficiencies.
  20. Take the lead on large-scale restructure and TUPE projects.
