Job Description - HR Assistant - mth FTC

We are delighted to be working in partnership with a new client who are an established Scottish based firm and leading experts in their field.

Due to expansion across the business, our client is looking to recruit a dedicated and professional HR Assistant on a full time basis for a period of 12mths.

This role can be based in either Edinburgh OR Glasgow!

The purpose of this role will be to support the HR team in delivering a seamless service to colleagues and management across the firm. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Drafting job descriptions; liaising with recruitment agencies; administration of job postings and circulation including filing and tracking applications, responding to applicants, and setting up interviews, drafting of offers and contracts and associated invoice administration
  • Co-ordinate onboarding experiences and inductions
  • Updating application process on website; collate applications in preparation for selection and interviews; all law fair administration; co-ordination of summer student scheme; maintaining records; drafting law society paperwork in relation to the lifecycle of the traineeship
  • Process invoices in relation to benefits; manage joiners and leavers on healthcare plans; advising employees on benefits; input to annual salary survey
  • Performance Management: update review form when required; track returned performance reviews and file.
  • Talent Management: drafting of promotion letters and contracts; booking of relevant training for promotion candidates
  • Learning and Development: coordinating and booking training and payment of invoices; send out feedback requests and collate results; assist in coordinating PEAT 2 training; update CPD tracker and HRIS.
  • Health and Wellbeing: upload communications to the internet; assist in setting up health and wellbeing activities.
  • HR Processes and procedures: inputting data for new starts, changes, movers, promotions, leavers, mat leavers etc onto HRIS/Payroll system; processing of practicing certificate renewal; drafting of correspondence relating to T&C’s, i.e. mat leave, pat leave, flexible working; update and maintain HRIS; admin relating to new starts, leavers, and changes; reporting from HRIS.
  • Payroll: Inputting pay data accurately and efficiently
  • Any other ad-hoc duties

To be considered for this opportunity, we are looking for the following skills and/or experience:

  • We are looking for someone who offers HR administration experience and keen to develop their skills further
  • Genuine passion and ambition to develop a career long term within HR
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and communicate positively and effectively
  • Detail-orientated with a proactive and positive attitude
  • Offer excellent IT skills particularly with Microsoft Office applications and the ability to analyse data in support of business priorities
  • Passion for helping others
