Job Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen due to an internal promotion, for an experienced and talented HR Officer within Glasgow City Council, Education Services.
Reporting to the Senior HR Officer, you will work as a part of a team within a busy HR environment, to confidently deliver a high quality and professional HR service to meet organisational objectives. You will provide advice and guidance to managers and Heads of Establishment on all HR operational matters, including employee relations, attendance management and workforce planning related matters, ensuring consistent application of policies and procedures.
You will be responsible for promoting and delivering a comprehensive and professional pro-active HR service, with the ability to influence, negotiate and challenge the way things are done. You will strive for excellence, continuously improving the quality of HR services by supporting the HR agenda and implementing it to add value to the business.
You must be able to demonstrate broad HR expertise covering, employee relations, including the management of complex casework, policies and procedures within a highly unionised environment and development of processes. A knowledge of HR policies and procedures within a highly unionised environment is essential.
To succeed in this role, you must be customer focused with excellent communication, influencing, relationship management, planning and organisational skills, together with the ability to manage a range of conflicting priorities.
You will be a dynamic, confident, self-motivated, resilient, and driven individual with a flexible approach, together with the ability to put forward creative ideas and solutions that add HR value to the business.
Ideally you will in possession of, or working towards, a relevant HR qualification and professional HR accreditation.
